Drumboy Lodge – Central Scotland

Where are we?

The main A71 Strathaven to Kilmarnock road is only 2 miles from your holiday cottage, ensuring we are very central to the whole of Scotland. This offers you a great base for site-seeing, visiting relatives, or exploring Scotland.
Glasgow, Edinburgh and Ayr are all within an hours drive.

Embrace the farm experience

Although this holiday accommodation is situated on it’s own, our farm is easily within walking distance from it.
This is a great opportunity for you to have a real farm experience. We can arrange a farm visit for you to see how things are done on a Scottish farm if you wish. Some times of the year are certainly busier than others, from calving and tractor field work in the spring, to the animals going out to the fields in May, to gathering in the harvest in the summer, to preparation of the farm for the winter months, in the autumn, and finally the animals all come inside again for the winter in late October.
There is never a dull moment !!

Animals
There are many kinds of wildlife living in the surrounding area. Owls, buzzards, heron, deer, foxes and hedgehogs, to name a few, and with a little luck, you may just catch a glimpse of one of them during your stay with us !
There are cows, calves, horses, gorgeous pygmy goats, dogs and cats on the farm, just waiting to say ‘hello’!
You may even see a baby calf born during your stay ………….

New Lanark World Heritage Site

Days out
There is a never ending list of places to visit and things to see during your stay with us such as New Lanark Heritage Site. Well worth a visit ! It doesn’t matter the weather, there is plenty to do close by to entertain all ages.
There are many leisurely walks from your door, along with golf, fishing and family theme parks and many great days out, within a short drive. Boat trips are proving to be a firm favourite, with trips to the Islands of Arran and Millport the most popular.
There is plenty of great days out suggestions within the lodge that can be viewed at your leisure, so don’t worry if you are unsure what you would like to see and do during your stay.
